5 types of labeling techniques and where to use them

One of the most important steps in the packaging industry is the labeling of the final products, which acts as the brand identity card for the company. Even for normal users, all sorts of labels look alike; there is a huge difference between the labels that are used nowadays.
In older days, only the peel-off labels were used and that’s why they were pretty much easier to identify. However, in today’s industrial world, the labels are used in multiple forms, including pressure sensitive label and reseal labels.

So, here is a small list of the most common types of labels used in the packaging industry in various sectors.

Reseal labels
Reseal labels are exactly how they sound as they can be peeled off and again attached for multiple times. These are generally used when the opening of the package is done above or below the reseal labels. With the need to include panel information, these reseal labels are increasingly becoming popular.

Pressure sensitive labels
This is one of the most common labels used in the packaging industry, thanks to the high-end durability of the same which is making it more usable than the others. Pressure sensitive label materials can be a simple paper of a plastic sheet which is then passed over the materials with the help of pressure.

In-mold labeling
In-mold labels are used in cases where you wish to make them the integral part of the package itself. Here, during the molding process, the labels are included in the molds and then the molten material is poured into it. This helps in making the labels permanent, with no tension of etching or scratching.

Fold-out labels
Just like the name sounds, these labels are attached in a folded form, where a long stretch of paper is folded in multiple steps to make it concise. Generally, in order to include relevant information about the product in a single substrate. As a result, it shows everything at once, be it a duplicate label copy or information pieces.

Die-cut labels
Sometimes, the shape of the package is not the custom one, and in some cases, you need to heighten the aesthetic value of your brand. For these reasons, you can use the die-cut labels which are cut in different shapes to represent the brand properly.
